Dear Marv, Joel let me know. It is surprising how people who we only meet a few times stay in our memories and thoughts. You and MaryAnn are two such people for me. It must be 15 years since I was last in Alaska but I clearly remember the welcome and friendship shown by you both. I have often thought of making a trip back out when you described the parts of your state tat I didn’t see. I am only too aware of the emptiness that you must feel as I’ve been through it too. Offering my condolences is not enough. In a few months time you will sit on a chair, when all of the jobs are done, and you’ll think; what now? If you would like a complete break, hop on a plane and come over here. I’m on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales and would like to introduce you to some of our most beautiful country over here. Caves too, just like the photos.
